Our Ladies...
Lady Cape is the herd queen. She is one of the first females we bought and has managed to keep this title all while being one of our smaller girls. We call her Mama Cape these days, she has tremendous grit and a plan to rule the world one day. A very pretty female also the most athletic of them. Easily passing this down to her cria, as every single one has been spectacular so far.
Apple Spice has it all I think. The sweet disposition and the correct structure. She is easy to groom, having a classic coat that sheds out completely every spring. And of course, her color! The combination of her quiet friendliness and color helps her keep the badge of visitor favorite. Apple has been another outstanding producer for us, her progeny are in several pack strings across a few different states now. We have one daughter producing here at Hauck's Llama's and are patiently waiting for another so that we can retire her. She is getting up there in age and we know we are on borrowed time with her. Even in her advanced years after raising many cria she is upright in her pasterns and maintains a strong back. Something we feel is a major must-have in pack llama breeding.
Line of Fire was purchased along with her dam Emma. Lee was impressed with the males in the herd and decided we better bring home the three females who were producing such solid built big boys. The whole herd had strong pasterns and backs, calm demeanors and originally had been a registered herd used for packing. She brings those same traits forward along with a little more capacity, something we are finding to be very valuable for a maternal trait. We have been gifted two daughters from her and are hoping for more!
CVSN Teardrops is one of only two producing females remaining from a 35 year old herd. She is a large quiet girl, who has some pretty cool genetics with allot of height up close. She has old time show llamas in her pedigree and is double Stevens PAHA SKA, who was a 1985 halter Champion. She also has MGF Glory Be on her papers back there, one of the grand old matriarchs of the day. A very unique set of genetics indeed!
Apples Marshmello is a big girl with amazing maternal traits, she has the capacity to grow a good sized cria and milks very well.. I just love this girl, definitely my personal favorite! Her offspring are smart, easy to train, and so gentle, all five of her males are in pack strings across different states. Looking forward to her cria every year is one of the highlights of cria season.
CVSN Brownie Russell is named after a state trooper. When we think of what a Ccara pack llama should be, she is very close to ideal. Her dam Waneta was a looker, over 49 inches tall and had 17 documented cria, an incredible feat. Brownie has a long ground covering stride, strong back and very short fiber. She is one of the core foundation females we plan on building our herd around, and already has given us one gorgeous daughter that we are retaining.
Brandee's Giselle spent most of her early years with a herd of sheep just a few miles north of us. Once we brought her home, I decided to track her breeder down. Her dam was still alive and in her upper 20's, perfectly upright and strong, a testament to her lineage. She was also tall with powerful muscles and built like the Ccara poster llama. Before we could get her purchased, she had been lost in a brutal record setting blizzard here in North Dakota! Such a sad deal. We were able to purchase another younger sister to Giselle and hope they give us some of her genetics. While Giselle isn't as tall as her dam was, she is a powerhouse of strength in her own right, her shoulder movement and front leg muscling is next level. She is very fast and can outrun even much larger females.
Tan Beach Girl is one of our younger females, she like most of our other females also has a story. Her breeder passed away leaving her lineage somewhat of a mystery. We were told that her sire was his grandpa's favorite llama and wouldn't sell him despite being offered a large sum for him once. From the way she is maturing, he must have been one nice llama! Tan Girl loves kids and likes being nosy, she is always trying to figure out what we are doing before we do. We are looking forward to what she does for our breeding program.
Chips N Dip goes back to Rocky Mountain Handsome on her sire's side. Her dam was the last of a registered herd that came from Arizona, they lost the rest from weed poisoning. Chips has very short and strong pasterns, good bone, and a nice strong back. She also has longevity on her side as her sire is still alive today! He has the old-style classic llama coat with super long guard hair that flows like a majestic cape! Chips is no different, as she sheds out her undercoat in the spring but retains all of that long guard hair.
Tinker Bell Fairy is a young female we were able to pick up with a completely unknown background just south of us. Not our usual method as we like to see the herds our females come from. However, there is very little we could fault her on and she joined our herd. We have been watching her develop and she continues to impress, we are anxiously waiting on her cria and are excited for her future here.
Mick's Flicka is a young female bred by a good friend of ours. His whole herd was registered years ago and he still has most of the original paperwork. Flicka goes back to a few of the old-school pack lines: Rocky Mountain and the old GNLC lines. 2024 is the first year we will be breeding her.
Jordan's Rae is sired by WRTL Ringo, a Vali Shaman son. Her dam Bonnie Joe, is sired by The Prancer, a stud with old MGF lines, some phenomenal outcross genetics. The combination of those two sure produced a beautiful female with spirit! Here at Hauck's Llamas we are pretty stoked to have genetics like Rae's.
Miss Meadow is a OTPL Top Gun daughter and her dam is a Vali Shaman daughter from Stan Ebel's herd. We wanted to add some Vali Shaman genetics and this girl does that! She is calm and aims to please, built elegantly like a female should be, yet manages to bring some Top Gun substance to the table as well. Meadow looks like she is going to be a power house one day.
