We would like to welcome you to Hauck's Llamas where we feature our beautiful Ccara Llamas and share our passion for breeding, training, and packing with them.
We are located in western North Dakota where the winters are brutally cold and the summers get hot. Our location is unique in that we are on the prairie but not far from the badlands, it's also special because of the wildlife we have around us, being blessed with both mule deer and white tail. A few herds of pronghorn can be seen roaming the bigger valleys along with the occasional moose and elk.
Our Llama journey began in the fall of 2017, after shopping around for packers for a while, we kept coming up empty handed. In the early spring of 2019, we were given the opportunity to purchase a whole herd of females from old packing genetics. We realized that these old herds of fine genetics were nearly gone, and the herds that were currently breeding and registering were an extremely small number with very little genetic diversity left. It didn’t take long, we went from zero to thirty in a real short time. Talk about a steep learning curve!
Along the way we bought quite a few herds of llamas and saw many more. Together we have logged many thousands of miles and had our fair share of long weekend trips. Keeping back the females we knew were exceptional, training and screening them into the International Llama Registry to be registered. Some of these girls were past breeding age and sadly, we lost out by being just a little to late to the game for them. Others left us with precious daughters we hope to keep around for many years.
Our goal is to take the females at Hauck's Llamas, each of them bringing something valuable to the table, and blend them with the best of the best, elite Ccara/Classic/North American Pack Llama males. In doing so, not only are we producing cria we have a hard time parting with, but also we feel we have something that’s appealing to both the serious breeder and the dedicated packer.
